Members of the Yadav community staged a protest in Gurugram on Sunday, demanding a change in the title of Farhan Akhtar’s upcoming film *120 Bahadur*. The community argued that their ancestors made significant national sacrifices, and they urged the filmmakers to rename the movie *120 Bahadur Ahir*. They also threatened to boycott the film if their demand is not met.

The movie stars Farhan Akhtar as Major Shaitan Singh Bhati (PVC) and is based on the incredible true story of the Battle of Rezang La in 1962.

### Community Response & Concerns

At a mahapanchayat held near the Kherki Daula toll plaza, members of the Yaduvanshi (Ahir) community voiced their opposition to the film. Speakers expressed disappointment that the teaser of *120 Bahadur* focuses primarily on one soldier, seemingly ignoring the collective bravery of the Ahir troops who fought courageously in the Battle of Rezang La.

Representatives demanded a more accurate representation of the courage and sacrifice displayed by the Ahir soldiers, who were an integral part of the 13 Kumaon Battalion during the war. Protestors even blocked roads to emphasize their concerns.

### Criticism of the Film’s Title

Community leaders argued that the film’s current title undermines the contributions of 114 martyrs and distorts the historical record of the 1962 war. TC Rao, a prominent speaker at the event, suggested that before its official release on November 21, 2025, the film should be screened for the families of the martyrs and representatives of the Ahir community.

The gathering included ex-servicemen and village sarpanches from Gurugram and neighboring districts, all of whom pledged their support to the cause.

### Warning of Possible Boycott

Retired Colonel Mahabir Yadav warned that this issue transcends cinema; it concerns protecting the honor of the martyrs. The mahapanchayat passed a resolution emphasizing that the story of the Rezang La Ahir martyrs must be told according to historic truth rather than cinematic effect.

### About the Film

*120 Bahadur* is directed by Razneesh “Razy” Ghai and produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani under their Excel Entertainment banner, along with Amit Chandrra of Trigger Happy Studios.

The film aims to bring to light the bravery and sacrifices made during one of the most significant battles in Indian military history, but the ongoing protests reflect the desire of the Yadav community to see their heroes duly recognized and honored in the narrative.
