1978 Ford F-250 Ranger XLT 4×4 4-Speed at No Reserve

This 1978 Ford F-250 Ranger XLT 4×4 pickup is a Canadian-market example that reportedly spent time in Washington state before being acquired by the current owner in 2023. Since then, the truck has undergone several key maintenance and refurbishment tasks, including rebuilding the replacement 460ci V8 engine and servicing the four-speed manual transmission along with the dual-range transfer case.

Finished in striking Raven Black, this F-250 features a Styleside bed and a sliding rear window. It is equipped with both a chrome front bumper and a rear step bumper, as well as a receiver hitch and cab clearance lights. The paint and body show some blemishes, which are documented in the accompanying gallery.

The truck rides on white-finished 16-inch steel wheels fitted with bright center caps, wrapped in 285/75 Delinte DX-10 Bandit tires. Manually locking front hubs and a suspension lift kit enhance its off-road capability, while braking is handled by power-assisted front disc brakes and rear drum brakes.

Inside, the bench seat is trimmed in a combination of black cloth and vinyl upholstery. Woodgrain accents adorn the dashboard and door panels, adding a touch of classic style to the cabin. Amenities include a push-button radio, a cabin heater, and lap belts for safety. The two-spoke steering wheel frames an instrument cluster with a 130 km/h speedometer, along with gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, battery charge, and fuel level. The odometer reads 62,000 kilometers (approximately 39,000 miles), with around 2,500 kilometers (~1,550 miles) having been added under current ownership. Notably, there is some corrosion visible on the right door jamb.

Under the hood, the rebuilt 460ci V8 engine, completed in 2024, is equipped with a 650 cfm four-barrel carburetor and Blue Streak ignition wires. An engine dynamometer sheet accompanies the sale, showing output figures of 374 horsepower and 494 lb-ft of torque. Power is delivered to either the rear wheels or all four wheels via the four-speed manual transmission paired with a dual-range transfer case. During the refurbishment, both the transmission and transfer case were removed and serviced, alongside the gas tank.

The truck also features a dual exhaust system with chambered mufflers, enhancing both performance and sound.

Included with the sale are a Deluxe Marti report detailing factory options, colors, and production statistics, as well as the engine dyno sheet, service records, and a clean Michigan title. This 1978 Ford F-250 Ranger XLT 4×4 is offered at no reserve on behalf of the owner, providing a unique opportunity to acquire a well-maintained classic pickup with documented provenance and recent mechanical work.
